Amazing Alumni: Sports |
How long have you played lacrosse for?
I started playing 13 years ago (!) when I was in Year 9 at St James with Mr Southwell as coach.
Where do you play?
I used to play at Durham University and for the last few years I have been playing for Central London Lacrosse Club, in the premiership team based in Regents Park. The club has over 90 people in it with three different teams and a wide range of abilities. It markets itself as the friendliest competitive lacrosse club in London and it's true. It's an amazing community of people (including alumnae Philippa and Honor Main!) and it keeps me sane after a long day at work!
How often do you play?
Twice a week, training on Tuesdays and matches on Sundays
Which is the best team you've played for and why?
Each team has been special. We had a tight knit team back at school, I played a bit of mixed lacrosse at university and that was great fun but my team now is also pretty unique - a group of Londoners in their 20s and 30s that still love lacrosse!
What has been the major highlight of your lacrosse career?
Winning BUCS finals in my second year at Durham University.
What influence has the game had on your life?
It keeps me sane, I've made a brand new set of friends both at university and in London that I'll keep for a long time!
What is the collaboration with STX, the lacrosse brand that you were part of?
STX are an American brand who wanted to increase their footprint in London. We did some photos for them against 'striking London landmarks' for them to promote on their website.
